Job summary

The YMCA of Metropolitan Atlanta is seeking a Site Counselor to lead afterschool activities for elementary-aged children, ensuring safety and alignment with Bright from the Start guidelines and YMCA standards. This grant-funded role focuses on program planning, supervision, and collaborative communication with the Site Director.

You will implement planned activities, monitor attendance, support virtual learning as needed, and contribute to high-quality, nurturing experiences that help children

Qualifications

Must be 18 years of age and eligible to work in the US.
Experience with school-age children in group settings preferred.
CPR/First Aid training or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and computer literacy.

Responsibilities

Lead assigned activities for elementary-age children aligned with program goals.
Ensure safety and compliance with Bright From the Start and YMCA standards.
Attend trainings and coordinate with Site Director on concerns.
Assist with attendance records and program planning.
Support students with virtual learning assignments as required by the school district.
Deliver high-quality afterschool programming and member service.
