Job Overview
The YMCA of Metro Atlanta seeks an Afterschool Site Director to manage day‑to‑day operations and guide program development for elementary‑age children.
Responsibilities
- Create an environment that provides various activities and instruction to support program goals.
- Conduct daily assessments of the program to ensure compliance with YMCA and BrightfromtheStart (BFTS) regulations.
- Supervise staff and communicate concerns with the Program Director.
- Maintain staff and student files in compliance with BrightfromtheStart and YMCA standards.
- Compile attendance records and other required program documentation.
- Coordinate supply orders with the Program Director.
- Attend BFTS, YMCA, and other scheduled training sessions and maintain required training hours.
- Consult with the Director(s) on student development or behavioral concerns.
- Provide input into program planning and development.
- Complete monthly self‑assessments of the program.
- Assist students with virtual learning assignments as required by their school district.
- Implement YMCA safety protocols related to COVID and branch operations.
Requirements
- Must be 21 years of age and possess a high school diploma or GED.
- Must hold a credential meeting BFTS Site Director requirements.
- Prior experience working with school‑age children in a group setting is required.
- Experience supervising staff in a school‑age setting is a plus.
- Current evidence of successful completion of biennial CPR/First Aid training.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and internet platforms such as Google Classroom and Zoom.
- Must pass a BrightfromtheStart fingerprint check before employment.
Employment Requirements
- Ability to pass a pre‑employment background check including criminal record check, drug screening, motor vehicle record (MVR), and reference check.
- Must be legally eligible to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.
