Job summary

The YMCA of the Sandhills in Sanford, NC is seeking a part-time Childcare Coordinator to lead the After School program, supervise staff, and ensure a safe, engaging environment for children and families.

You will plan activities aligned with YMCA values, coordinate trainings, manage supplies, and communicate with parents. CPR/First Aid and child abuse prevention training are required within 90 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 18.
• Experience supervising children.
• Ability to work with people of different backgrounds and abilities.
• CPR, First Aid, AED certifications, and Child Abuse Prevention training within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Supervise department Level 1 staff, provide coaching and ensure training compliance.
• Manage department inventory, supplies, and equipment maintenance; report issues.
• Schedule department staff per YMCA policies; communicate shift vacancies.
• Provide safe supervision and maintain a welcoming environment for participants.
• Plan and implement activities aligned with YMCA values and program standards.
• Uphold safety and cleanliness standards across program areas.
• Attend staff meetings and required YMCA trainings.
