Job summary

The Chinatown YMCA, part of the YMCA of Greater New York, seeks an Afterschool Coordinator to lead academic enrichment and enrichment activities for children in the afterschool program. Under the Program Director, you will ensure safety, manage daily operations, maintain records, and align activities with school goals and state licensing standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; an Associate’s Degree in Education is preferred.
• Minimum two years of experience working with children under 13.
• Pediatrics CPR or First Aid certifications preferred; proficient with Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Direct programs serving designated grade bands, ensuring age-appropriate activities.
• Promote SEL best practices and engage students with meaningful activities.
• Coordinate with host schools and partners to align with academic goals.
• Maintain accurate program documentation and comply with licensing standards.
• Oversee data entry and manage daily operations of the Afterschool program.
