Job summary

The YMCA of Greater New York is seeking an Afterschool Coordinator for the Dodge YMCA in Brooklyn. This part-time role supports school-age children, aligns activities with academic goals, and ensures a safe, enriching afterschool environment.

You will supervise daily activities, manage records, and assist with program evaluation while collaborating with schools and families to promote well-being and learning.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in education preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of experience working with children under 13.
• Pediatric CPR or First Aid certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct programs serving the designated grade level band (K-5 or 6-8).
• Drive SEL best practices and design engaging activities for holistic student development.
• Integrate programs into the community and meet diverse needs.
• Develop strategies for recruiting and retaining participants to sustain attendance.
• Analyze data and evaluations to improve program quality and outcomes.
• Maintain documentation per OCFS/DOH/DYCD/ YMCA requirements.
