Job summary

Greater Austin YMCA seeks a Program Lead to run an on-site school-year program and summer camp, owning daily operations, staff management, and program quality.

You’ll collaborate with school staff, principals, and teachers, ensuring safety and engaging activities while representing the YMCA’s mission on campus.

Responsibilities include scheduling, curriculum delivery, compliance with licensing standards, and strong parent communication to support student growth and well-being.

Qualifications

• 21 years of age or older
• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Minimum of 1 year licensed childcare experience or experience in an accredited school setting
• Proven experience supervising and developing a team
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
• Ability to manage group behavior and resolve challenges calmly
• Professional, customer-focused approach
• Reliable transportation and flexibility for occasional evenings/weekends
• Growth Mindset and team collaboration
• Effective communication with members, families, and staff

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations, ensuring safety and exceptional experience for students
• Coach and inspire your team, foster collaboration and accountability
• Implement daily schedules and curriculum including activities and outdoor play
• Follow Texas childcare licensing standards and YMCA policies
• Ensure safety and security during all program activities and field trips
• Partner with school principals, teachers, and PTAs to support campus initiatives
• Promote social-emotional development and academic support through relationships
• Maintain clear communication with parents, caregivers, staff, and supervisors
• Complete documentation and maintain confidential records
• Participate in committees and assist with program-wide events and trainings
• Complete other duties as assigned
