Job summary

Greater Austin YMCA in Austin is seeking a seasonal, part-time Assistant Site Lead for elementary sites across the area. You will support daily operations, supervise groups of 12-17 youth aged 4-12, and work afternoon shifts from 2:00 PM to 6:30 PM with occasional evenings and weekend events.

You may act as Site Director when the Site Lead is away, ensuring continuity, safety, licensing compliance, and high-quality program delivery.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Availability to work Monday–Friday from 2:00 PM to 6:30 PM, with occasional evenings and weekends.
• At least 6 months of experience in a licensed childcare setting, or equivalent coursework.
• Must meet Texas Child Care Licensing requirements or willing to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Site Lead in managing daily program operations and safety.
• Support Youth Development Leaders and foster a positive team culture.
• Step into full site leadership in the Site Lead's absence to ensure continuity.
• Supervise 12–17 youth and maintain site ratios and active supervision.
• Deliver and support enrichment activities, academics, and physical activity.
• Communicate with families and plan family nights/events.
• Travel between sites as needed and assist with paperwork and trainings.
• Ensure adherence to licensing standards and YMCA policies.
• Assist with attendance, incident reports, behavior documentation, and confidentiality.
