Job summary

The Child Center of NY, a NYC nonprofit, is seeking a Group Leader to support children and families in after-school programs. You will lead activities, supervise participants, and help prepare lesson plans in a safe, engaging environment.

Responsibilities include attendance, behavior documentation, and collaboration with tutors. The role requires a HS diploma, office proficiency, and prior experience with children. Monday through Friday, 1:30 PM–6:00 PM, pay $18/hr.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Content-specific experience (e.g. sports, arts, literacy) preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Experience working with children.
• Ability to plan and carry out assignments independently.
• Ability to prioritize, adhere to timelines and multi-task.

Responsibilities

• Providing homework help, facilitating activities and supervising children in programs outside of school day hours.
• Supervise and monitor children and take daily attendance.
• Assist tutors and activity specialists to manage and document behavior.
• Maintain supplies.
• Assist and maintain data collection and upkeep of participants documents.
• Attend all necessary program meetings.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
