Job summary

The Peninsula Jewish Community Center invites applications for an Afterschool Program Instructor in Foster City, CA. This role serves TK through 5th grade, with a Monday–Friday afternoon schedule and a pay range of $18.92 to $31.19 per hour.

Join a supportive Treehouse team that values learning through play, safety, and community involvement. Applicants with 12 college units may qualify for an Associate Teacher position at $26.31 per hour.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Available Monday through Friday during the hours listed.
• Ability to work with TK–5th grade students.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervising and actively engaging with elementary school-aged children in a classroom and outdoor setting.
• Leading and assisting with age-appropriate activities, including arts and crafts, STEM projects, recreational games, and group activities.
• Supporting students with homework, social interactions, problem-solving, and developing independence.
• Maintaining a safe, organized, and welcoming classroom environment.
• Working collaboratively with fellow teachers to plan activities, manage classroom routines, and support student needs.
• Building positive relationships with students, families, and coworkers.
• Following program safety procedures, including student supervision, attendance, and transitions between activities.
