Job summary

JCC East Bay is hiring a Kids’ Club Afterschool Lead Teacher for Oakland. The role runs August through May, about 20–25 hours weekly, with daily supervision and classroom leadership.

You will prepare developmentally appropriate activities, collaborate with staff, and ensure a safe learning environment while guiding students in TK–Elementary. A strong commitment to diversity and Jewish community values is required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of childcare or equivalent experience in TK or Elementary preferred.
• Associates or BA in Early Childhood Education is highly preferred.
• Must pass the Alameda County Paraprofessional Proficiency Test within six months from start of employment.

Responsibilities

• Develop lesson plans and activities aligned with program philosophy.
• Support other staff’s lesson planning and coordinate shared materials.
• Maintain safety, supervise children, and enforce behavior policies.
• Document attendance, incidents, and communications for weekly updates.
• Lead a classroom and collaborate with a team to meet goals.
• Communicate with families and participate in weekly staff meetings.
