Job summary

The Harker School in San Jose, CA seeks a Library Assistant for the Upper School campus. This part-time, hourly role begins August 10 with a schedule of Monday through Friday, 12:30 p.m.

to 6:00 p.m. You will work under the campus librarian to provide library services, support instruction, shelve and circulate materials, maintain displays and records, and assist students and staff in a busy school library environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year of library, school, or bookstore experience.
• Minimum one year of experience working with groups of children.
• Minimum one year of clerical experience.
• High School diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparation of library for instruction.
• Shelve, circulate, and repair books and other resources.
• Maintain circulation records and accounting for lost/damaged items.
• Maintain and circulate audio-visual equipment.
• Assist in organizing library events.
• Prepare periodic statistical reports.
