Job summary

ProMedica’s Hickman Hospital Laboratory is seeking a phlebotomist to perform routine blood specimen collection for all age groups. The role requires completion of a phlebotomy program or documented experience, with a high school diploma.

You will work afternoons, collect specimens, maintain asepsis, operate the lab computer system, and participate in quality improvement efforts. ProMedica offers flexible benefits and a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a formal phlebotomy training program or documented phlebotomy experience.
• Preferred: associate degree in science related field.

Responsibilities

• Collects specimens for basic procedures and may perform point-of-care testing.
• Follows asepsis and antisepsis; assists in patient care during collection.
• Determines test combinations and minimum volumes; aware of pre-analytic variables.
• Utilizes laboratory information system and QA data to improve services; supports changes in procedures.
• Maintains policies, procedures, safety and infection control; participates in ongoing education.
• Assists in training new associates or students.
