Job summary

PROMEDICA FREMONT MEMORIAL HOSPITAL in Fremont, OH is seeking a part-time phlebotomist for afternoon shifts to collect specimens, prepare samples, and perform testing while caring for patients before, during and after collection.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent and phlebotomy training or one year phlebotomy experience, with preferred professional registration (PBT/ASCP). You will train new staff and use QA data to improve procedures.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Diploma from an accredited phlebotomy training institute or one year phlebotomy experience.
• Completion of an academic program with substantial practical clinical phlebotomy rotation (3+ weeks).
• Professional registration preferred (PBT ASCP).
• One year of experience in a high-volume phlebotomy environment.

Responsibilities

• Collect specimens for procedures.
• Perform testing and patient care before, during, and after collection.
• Pre-analytic tasks: centrifugation, decanting, specimen distribution and packaging.
• Use QA data to improve services and address quality issues.
• Cross-reference test names/abbreviations to specimen types.
• Follow asepsis and antisepsis principles.
• Assist in training new associates or students.
