Job summary

Sumitomo Drive Technologies is seeking a mechanical design professional to reverse engineer and design industrial gearboxes. You will develop manufacturing drawings and coordinate with production and scheduling teams to define full work scope.

You will use Inventor and Autocad to interpret customer specifications, evaluate non-conforming parts, and support the Sales Team with technical guidance. Travel within SMA footprint as needed.

Qualifications

• BS in mechanical engineering or design or equivalent work experience.
• 2 years mechanical design experience.
• 2 years Autocad experience (Autodesk Inventor preferred).

Responsibilities

• Understand engineering principles for gear box analysis and design.
• Learn LUFTEX design and analysis methodology using design guides and software.
• Analyze customer gearboxes systems from gears to lubrication systems.
• Read and interpret technical manufacturing drawings and customer layouts.
• Create BOMs with cost-consciousness for jobs.
• Work with SMA standards for Hansen and Paramax products.
