Job summary

Sumitomo Drive Technologies in Texas is seeking a technically skilled inspector and tester for gear boxes. You will perform physical testing, inspection, and data capture while supporting development of Salesforce inspection methods and processes.

You will provide technical analysis during troubleshooting and work with engineers to improve aftermarket workflows. The role requires hands-on assembly support, the ability to read drawings, and field service flexibility.

Qualifications

• Four-year degree or 1–2 years in an industrial environment.
• High school diploma with 5 years in repair/industrial work.
• Associate's degree with 3 years experience.

Responsibilities

• Document and photograph the “as received” gear box and components during disassembly and inspection.
• Disassemble and sketch assemblies to identify components.
• Assist with developing Salesforce evaluation processes and implementation.
• Photograph rotating elements and components as directed by supervisor.
• Make sketches and measure rotating elements for repair recommendations.
• Perform non-destructive testing and inspection (e.g., borescope, dye penetrant, magnetic particle).
• Update inspection information and process steps in PGN.
• Prioritize and develop inspection schedule with input from supervisor and engineers.
• Conduct mechanical run tests after assembly and before shipping.
