Job summary

Sumitomo Drive Technologies USA is seeking a skilled technician to physically test and inspect gear boxes and components, and help develop Salesforce inspection methodologies for effective troubleshooting and repair evaluation.

You will maintain organized processing areas, prioritize work with supervision and engineers, test gear boxes, and provide field service and assembly support in a dynamic aftermarket environment.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a 4-year university or equivalent with 1–2 years in an industrial setting, or an Associate’s Degree with 3 years of experience.
• Ability to read technical drawings, manuals and assembly procedures, and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Document and photograph the 'as received' gearbox during disassembly and inspection.
• Disassemble and sketch assemblies to identify components.
• Develop Salesforce evaluation processes and implement them.
• Perform non-destructive testing and inspection methods (borescope, dye penetrant, MPI).
• Recommend repairs and update inspection data in PGN.
• Prioritize inspection schedules with supervision and engineers.
• Run mechanical tests on gear boxes after assembly and before shipping.
• Assist with gearbox assembly and field service tasks as required.
