Sumitomo Drive Technologies USA seeks a Mechanical Design Engineer to advance gearbox design and reverse engineering efforts. You will interpret customer drawings, develop manufacturing drawings, and collaborate with production teams to meet schedules.

Responsibilities include applying design guides, using Inventor, and supporting sales with technical input while traveling to customer sites as required.

Qualifications

• BS in mechanical engineering or design discipline or equivalent experience.
• 2 years mechanical design experience.
• 2 years Autocad experience (Autodesk Inventor preferred).

Responsibilities

• Understand engineering principles for gearbox analysis and design.
• Read and interpret 3D CAD drawings and customer layouts.
• Create manufacturing drawings and full work scope for production.
• Travel to provide technical support as needed.
