Job summary

UnitedHealth Group is seeking an Afterhours Registered Nurse to deliver hospice care for patients and families during nights and weekends. The schedule is 7 days on, 7 days off, providing comprehensive care after regular business hours.

Responsibilities include triaging needs over the phone, initiating nursing evaluations within 48 hours, performing afterhours visits (admissions, death, recertification, routine), and documenting patient progress.

Qualifications

• Current unrestricted RN licensure in the state of practice
• Current driver's license, valid vehicle insurance, and access to a dependable vehicle, or public transportation
• Preferred CPR certification or ability to complete within 90 days of hire
• 1+ years of clinical experience

Responsibilities

• Triage patient needs over the phone until an in-person visit
• Respond to crisis calls after hours with urgency
• Conduct initial nursing evaluation within 48 hours of referral
• Perform afterhours admissions, death, recertification and routine visits
• Assess patient/family needs and reassess at least every 15 days
• Document problems, goals, interventions, and responses
