Job summary

The YMCA of Northern Colorado is hiring Program Aides to support school-age programs, ensuring safe, engaging activities and upholding core YMCA values of respect, responsibility, honesty and caring.

Under supervision, you will help with crafts, games, and homework support, with shifts in the mornings and after-school, and options for full-day camps when school is out. Growth into leadership roles is encouraged.

Qualifications

• Must be a minimum of 16 years old.
• Commitment to being a positive role model with youth.
• Ability to work well on a team, communicate easily with youth, parents and colleagues and be committed to implementing YMCA programming and fun.
• Bilingual preferred, not required.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to program standards including safety and cleanliness standards.
• Attends staff meetings and trainings.
• Follows YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to medical and disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention and emergencies.
• Maintains positive relations with parents and other staff. Models' relationship-building skills in all interactions.
• Maintains confidentiality of YMCA issues, incidents and records.
• Be on time for all shifts; be flexible to accommodate unexpected schedule changes, including full days.
• Other duties as assigned.
