Job summary

Bgcnt is seeking a part-time Youth Program Assistant to support Clubhouse/Unit activities from 3:00pm to 6:00pm, Monday through Friday, in Buffalo, NY. You will work with Site Coordinator to implement activity plans and maintain a safe, engaging environment for children after school.

The role requires enrollment in a college program or at least one year in related field, strong communication and organizational skills, and CPR/First-Aid certification within six months.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in an accredited college/university or have at least 1 year in a related field.
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, oral and written communications skills.
• Must be able to problem solve, troubleshoot, use reflective thinking, and work as a member of a dynamic team.
• Competency in Microsoft Office and Windows operating systems.
• Must be 18 or over and complete CPR/First-Aid within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Work with Site Coordinator/Clubhouse Director to execute activity plans that support core program areas and align with Club-wide instructional goals.
• Allow members to provide feedback and adjust future plans accordingly.
• Implement assessment techniques to evaluate the efficacy of lessons/activities.
• Provide constructive feedback for members to develop skills in program areas.
• Communicate with supervisors to identify instructional and behavioral needs and align experiences accordingly.
• Participate in staff and curriculum meetings and professional development opportunities.
• Support special programs and/or events; provide guidance and discipline; be a positive role model.
• Maintain cleanliness of all program spaces; perform other duties as assigned.
