Job summary

HeyTutor is seeking tutors to support elementary students (TK–5th) during after‑school hours in Petaluma, CA. You will supervise small groups and help students catch up on learning gaps from the past school year, in-person.

Schedule is Mon-Fri 1pm–6pm (16 hours/week). Pay ranges from $24 to $28 per hour and will be set during interviews. A clear FBI-DOJ background check and TB test are required.

Qualifications

• AA or higher completed or currently enrolled in college/university.
• Tutoring experience (great at working with kids).
• Comfortable working in a classroom setting.
• Clear FBI-DOJ background check (provided through us).
• Clear TB Test.

Responsibilities

• Work with groups of students (without the support of a teacher or school site staff).
• Prepare area to start tutoring session.
• Take attendance and run lessons through HeyTutor Dashboard (if applicable).
• Document student progress with HeyTutor Dashboard.
• Facilitate students taking and completing baseline and summative assessments when requested by manager.
• Lead tutoring sessions using curriculum and materials provided by the program.
• Create an engaging environment that fosters a sense of belonging for kids.
• Support students in making positive behavior choices.
