Job summary

Big City University is seeking an After-School Program Instructional Staff member for part-time, interim coverage. The role focuses on engaging elementary students with tutoring and enrichment activities, under supervision of the Program Site Coordinator.

Availability Mon-Thurs during the school year, 2-6 pm, is required. Responsibilities include supervising activities, maintaining safety, and fostering positive relationships with students and parents, while contributing to program quality and

Qualifications

• At least two-year minimum experience volunteering or working with children and some leadership experience.
• Excellent communication skills with staff, parents, volunteers and children.
• Basic computer skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Ability to plan and implement engaging youth programs.
• Ability to supervise members in a safe environment.
• Elementary-level tutoring ability in English/Language Arts, Math, Science and Social Studies.
• CPR, First Aid certifications and background check recommended.

Responsibilities

• Engage at-risk elementary students to improve academics through tutoring and enrichment activities.
• Support Site Coordinator and assist with parent education events and field trips.
• Create and implement engaging activities for all elementary age groups.
• Maintain a safe environment and use good judgment in program spaces.
• Communicate with members and parents to provide guidance and role modeling.
• Participate in staff meetings and complete required reporting.
