Job summary

Think Together in Norwalk, CA seeks a Substitute Program Leader for part-time afternoon work. You will mentor students, assist with homework, and lead engaging activities while maintaining safety and discipline in line with school schedules.

The role requires high school completion and college unit prerequisites, with a 1:1 student focus and strong communication. Available 3 days a week, typical hours 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM, across sites in the region.

Qualifications

  • Experience with young children in an educational or program setting.
  • Ability to engage students, foster positive behavior, and communicate clearly.
  • Proof of high school graduation or GED is required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide homework assistance, academic enrichment and physical activity using provided curriculum.
  • Create an engaging environment that fosters belonging among students.
  • Support students in making positive behavior choices and issue disciplinary measures as needed.
  • Engage children by following and helping implement lesson plans.
  • Ensure safety by assisting in setup, breakdown and site maintenance.
  • Promote positive interactions between volunteers and students per safety guidelines.
  • Record attendance and sign-ins; communicate needs to coordinators and staff.
  • Commit to a full-year program; arrive on-time and complete time cards.
  • Participate in staff development activities.

48 college units or 60 college units or instructional aide test
