Job summary

Think Together in Rancho Cordova, CA is seeking a Substitute Program Leader (Part-Time) to support students across multiple sites with homework help, enrichment activities, and supervision. You will help create a positive, engaging environment aligned with safety and CDC guidelines.

The role emphasizes leadership, patience, and commitment to a nurturing school setting, with an afternoon schedule around 1:00 PM–6:00 PM, Monday through Friday.

Qualifications

• Experience working with young children and ability to inspire.
• Proof of graduation from High School or GED.
• 48 college units or 60 college quarter units or pass an Instructional Aide Test.
• Ability to speak and write standard English for a public school setting.
• Available at least 5 days a week (Mon-Fri).
• Program times roughly 1:00 PM–6:00 PM; times may vary with school day schedules.

Responsibilities

• Provide homework assistance, academic enrichment and physical activity using curriculum and materials.
• Create an engaging environment that fosters belonging.
• Support students in positive behavior choices and disciplinary measures when appropriate.
• Engage children and youth by following and assisting in lesson plans.
• Ensure student safety by helping set up, break down, and maintain site cleanliness.
• Promote positive interactions between volunteers and students per child safety guidelines.
• Maintain student safety by taking roll and reviewing sign-in/out procedures.
• Identify student needs and communicate with Site Coordinator, teachers, school administration, parents, and volunteers as appropriate.
• Commit to a full-year program with punctual arrival and time-card completion.
• Participate in staff development activities.
