Job summary

Think Together in Santa Ana, CA is seeking a Substitute Program Leader (Part-Time) to support students after school, providing homework help, enrichment activities, and physical activity using our curriculum. You will serve as a positive adult role model and help students reach their potential in a safe, nurturing environment.

Candidates should have a High School diploma or GED, plus 48 college units or 60 quarter units (or pass an instructional aide test).

Qualifications

Experience working with young children and the ability to inspire and motivate.
Proof of graduation from High School or GED required; college units or testing may be required.
Ability to speak and write standard English appropriate in a public school setting.
Available at least 5 days a week (Mon-Fri).
Program hours roughly 1:00 PM–6:00 PM; times may vary with school schedules.

Responsibilities

Provide homework assistance, academic enrichment and physical activity using provided curriculum.
Create an engaging environment that fosters belonging.
Support students in positive behavior choices and disciplinary measures when needed.
Engage children by following lesson plans and assisting in creating new plans.
Ensure student safety by set up, break down, and site maintenance.
Promote positive interactions between volunteers and students per safety guidelines.
Maintain student safety by taking roll and signing in/out.
Identify student needs and communicate with Site Coordinator, teachers, and parents.
Commit to a full-year program with punctuality and accurate timekeeping.
Participate in staff development activities.
