Job summary

Chester County Intermediate Unit seeks a part-time Student Support Specialist to assist elementary students, with a focus on English Language Learners and academic support. The role runs Monday to Thursday, 3:30 pm to 6:30 pm, with no Friday program.

The hourly rate ranges from $31.82 to $39.77, placement based on experience within the program. The position requires a high school diploma, technology proficiency, and state/federal clearances.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Bachelor's Degree in related field preferred.
• Experience with bilingual/bicultural students preferred.
• Experience working with the applicable age group preferred.
• Act 33 and 34 clearances and federal criminal history background check available through CCIU upon hire.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement daily lessons related to student needs.
• Provide an engaging environment designed to meet the needs of students.
• Implement behavior management strategies that are developmentally appropriate.
• Plan and implement a daily learning schedule that includes Physical movement, Social and emotional learning, STEAM activities.
• Maintain student attendance and participation data.
