Job summary

Chester County Intermediate Unit seeks Part-time Student Support Specialists for the 21st Century Community Learning Center Program within the Reading School District. Positions support elementary students and English Language Learners and other students, with a team-oriented, collaborative environment.

Duties include planning daily lessons, ensuring engaging activities, and maintaining attendance data. Work hours are Mon-Thu 2:30pm-5:30pm at Reading School District locations, with an hourly

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Bachelor's Degree in related field preferred.
• Experience with bilingual/bicultural students preferred.
• Experience with the applicable age group preferred.
• Computer and current technology knowledge required.
• Act 33 and 34 clearances and federal criminal history background check required (CCIU upon hire).
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement daily lessons related to student needs.
• Provide an engaging environment designed to meet the needs of students.
• Implement behavior management strategies that are developmentally appropriate.
• Plan and implement a daily learning schedule including physical movement, SEL, and STEAM activities.
• Maintain student attendance and participation data.

Currently, there are multipleopenings working with elementary school age students, and supporting English Language Learnersand/or academic support students.
