Job summary

New York Edge in Brooklyn is seeking a STEM Specialist to lead after-school activities for children and teens. The role is part-time, in-person, 2:00 pm–6:00 pm, Monday through Friday, at Brooklyn program sites.

You will teach and co-lead daily activities, facilitate STEM curricula (Math, Robotics, Science, Coding, Technology and Engineering), prepare materials, and assess student progress while maintaining safety and engagement.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in teaching youth in after-school programs preferred.
• Knowledge of STEM activities and ability to teach to diverse groups.

Responsibilities

• Build relationships with students.
• Teach or co-lead daily activities.
• Facilitate STEM curriculum including Math, Robotics, Science, Coding, Technology and Engineering.
• Prepare materials for daily activities.
• Adapt teaching methods to student needs and interests.
• Input data and prepare reports.
• Administer pre and post-assessments and evaluations.
