Job summary

New York Edge, Inc. seeks a Part-Time Extended Day STEM Activity Instructor to lead after-school programming at Queens sites. You will design and implement STEM activities across Math, Robotics, Science, Coding, and Engineering, and prepare materials for daily lessons.

The role is in person, Monday to Friday, 2:00 pm–6:00 pm, with shifts based on site needs. A High School diploma is required; STEM college credits are preferred. Strong communication and classroom management are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• College credits in STEM are highly preferred.
• Experience teaching youth is desirable.
• In-person work at NYC sites; some stair access.
• Ability to lift or move materials as needed.

Responsibilities

• Build strong relationships with and among students.
• Teach or co-lead daily activities.
• Facilitate STEM curriculum (Math, Robotics, Science, Coding, Engineering).
• Establish clear objectives for lessons and communicate them to students.
• Prepare materials for daily activities.
• Adapt teaching methods to meet student needs and interests.
• Support coordination of program events.
• Input data and prepare reports.
• Administer pre- and post-assessments for activities.
