Job summary

Qualifications

  • Subject-matter expertise in a field consistent with the subject taught.
  • Patient, kind and friendly.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to effectively manage and correct conduct and performance of adults and children.
  • Able to manage multiple tasks and exhibit creativity in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to use own initiative, sound judgment, tact and diplomacy.
  • University degree (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Implements course curriculum, and assists with its development
  • Works with teaching assistant to create lesson plans in accordance with course curriculum
  • Requests supplies from Site Supervisor well in advance of class sessions
  • Leads classes with school-age children
  • Supervises children during transitions
  • Supervises teaching assistants
  • Communicates regularly with Site Supervisor and/or Director about student progress
  • Plans, coordinates, and oversees culminating events at the end of each cycle
