Job summary

King William County is seeking a part-time/temporary staff member to assist with an After School Recreation Program for the 2025–2026 school year. The role runs weekdays 2:30pm–6:00pm, August 2025 through May 2026, with occasional extensions. duties include planning activities, homework help, and supervising children in grades K-5.

CPR/First Aid certification is required; prior experience with youth programs is preferred. A high school diploma or GED is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience planning and leading after-school activities.
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
• Ability to work with diverse groups and maintain discipline.
• Criminal background check and drug screening required.
• CPR/First Aid certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning and implementing after-school recreation activities for up to 125 children.
• Provide homework assistance as needed.
• Lead activities in sports, arts & crafts, nature, music, drama.
• Assist with inventory and care of equipment.
• Must report to 2:30pm and stay until 5:00pm, with extensions to 6:00pm as needed.
• Available to work every weekday during the school year.
