Job summary

The City of Alexandria’s Department of Recreation, Parks & Cultural Activities is seeking a Temporary Recreation Leader II to support Out of School Time programs for youth aged 5–17. The role runs afternoons and during summer, facilitating arts, sports, and STEAM activities.

You’ll be responsible for leading activities, ensuring safety, and communicating with families. A high school diploma and two years of related experience are required, along with First Aid training and the ability to lift

Qualifications

• Minimum: High School Diploma and two years of related experience or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. First Aid training.

Responsibilities

• Plan, lead, and guide youth in arts, sports, games, music, drama, and STEAM activities.
• Create a safe, inclusive, and engaging afterschool or summer program environment.
• Maintain orderly program spaces and ensure proper setup and cleanup.
• Communicate professionally with OSTP families and staff; participate in meetings and trainings.
