Job summary

The City of Alexandria’s Department of Recreation, Parks & Cultural Activities seeks a Temporary Recreation Leader II for Out of School Time programs. The role plans and leads arts, crafts, sports, and STEAM activities for youth aged 5–17, Monday to Friday 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., with additional summer hours.

Candidates should have a high school diploma and related experience; First Aid training is preferred. The position emphasizes safety, supervision, and customer service.

Qualifications

• Minimum: High School Diploma and two years of related experience or equivalent.
• First Aid training is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, and facilitate activities for youth aged 5–17 in arts, sports, games, music, drama, and STEAM during OST and summer camps.
• Ensure safety, proper supervision, and adherence to program rules at all times.
• Prepare sites and program materials, set up equipment, and secure the site after activities.
• Complete reports and communicate professionally with OSTP families and staff.
