Job summary

Prince William County’s Department of Parks & Recreation seeks energetic Before/After Care Counselors to supervise and engage children in a mix of enrichment activities, reading, swimming and homework sessions. Candidates should be 18+, have a High School Diploma or GED, and be able to work in both indoor and outdoor settings.

Qualifications

• 18 years or older.
• High School Diploma/GED.
• Experience working with children in structured settings/programs.
• Ability to work in indoor and outdoor environments.
• Part-time hours depend on enrollments and cannot be guaranteed.

Responsibilities

• Supervise children’s safety before school (6:00 a.m.–9:00 a.m.) and after school (2:00 p.m.–7:00 p.m.).
• Provide a high level of customer service and communicate program information.
• Collect paperwork as needed and communicate program details.
• Problem solve when needed and maintain daily logs/reports.
• Enforce program rules and assist with daily operations.
