Job summary

York City School District is seeking an After School Support Staff to provide instructional support for Grades 1-8 in the BOP After School Program. You will report to the After School Program Director and collaborate with the Site Coordinator and all BOP staff to deliver engaging lessons and maintain orderly, respectful classrooms.

The role requires strong communication, teamwork, and a customer-service mindset, with emphasis on safe, equitable support for a diverse student population.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Associate's Degree preferred.
• Willing to participate in ongoing professional development.
• Ability to effectively use written and oral skills to communicate with teachers, students, parents and supervisors.
• Demonstrate a high degree of customer service and professionalism.
• Must be able to travel between buildings as needed.
• First Aid/CPR certification preferred.
• Act 34/151 FBI Clearances and Bloodborne Pathogens certificates may be required

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, coordination, and implementation of student lessons in reading/writing, mathematics, and character education.
• Support BOP teaching staff in the creation and delivery of targeted reading/ math lessons.
• Assist in transitioning students from the regular school day to the After School Program.
• Develop strong relationships with students and peers.
• Establish high expectations and After School Program routines to maximize engagement.
• Work with BOP Staff and the After School Program Director to ensure effective communication.
• Oversee and monitor student conduct during program hours.
• Other duties as assigned by the After School Program Director.
