Job summary

York City School District is seeking an After School Support Staff member for the BOP program. This position supports grades 1-8 in the after-school setting, collaborating with teachers and site coordinators to deliver planned reading/writing and math activities.

The role requires dependable attendance, professional behavior, and the ability to manage student conduct while fostering a positive learning environment. Travel between district buildings may be required as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required; Associate's Degree preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively with teachers, students, parents and supervisors.
• Must demonstrate customer service mindset with professionalism and respect.
• Willingness to participate in ongoing professional development.
• Must be able to travel between buildings as district needs dictate.

Responsibilities

• Support BOP teaching staff in creating and delivering targeted reading/math lessons.
• Assist in transitions from regular school day to After School Program.
• Develop positive relationships with students and among students.
• Establish After School routine to maximize engagement and minimize off-task behavior.
• Collaborate with the After School Program Director and staff for effective communication.
• Oversee and monitor student conduct during program hours.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the After School Program Director.
