Job summary

SGA Youth & Family Services is seeking an On-Site After School Program Specialist in Chicago to support daily programming across school sites. You will prepare spaces, coordinate schedules, and ensure activities meet program and funder expectations while fostering safe, inclusive environments.

You will engage students, supervise activities, and support attendance tracking, documentation, and family events. A High School Diploma or GED is required; associate degree preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associate’s degree in education, Child Development, Human Services, Recreation, Psychology, Social Work, or related field preferred.
• 1–3 years of experience working with elementary-aged youth preferred.
• Experience in after-school, summer programs, or youth development settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support daily implementation of after-school programming across assigned school sites.
• Coordinate daily schedules and transitions between enrichment activities.
• Ensure programming is delivered according to agency and funder expectations.
• Prepare activity spaces, materials, and supplies for daily programming.
• Assist with special events, family engagement activities, showcases, and field trips.
• Develop positive relationships with students and promote inclusive environments.
• Monitor attendance, maintain participant records, and support data entry.
