arc After School and Experiential Education is seeking an Assistant Site Coordinator for a Los Angeles middle school. The role blends direct student interaction with leadership and administrative duties, including lesson planning, attendance tracking, and grant compliance.

The position offers part-time, non-exempt hours with shifts mornings and afternoons. Ideal candidates are bilingual in English/Spanish and have a background in after-school programs.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in after-school programs or youth recreation, especially in diverse communities.
• Strong communication with kids and parents.
• 48+ college credit units completed or be able to pass an academic proficiency exam.
• TB test (negative) and Live Scan background check.

Responsibilities

• Assist Site Coordinator as second point of contact for parents and administrators.
• Oversee safety and well-being of students during after-school activities.
• Establish and enforce rules to promote positive behavior.
• Coordinate and manage indoor and outdoor enrichment activities.
• Attend trainings and staff meetings on childcare, safety, and program management.
• Address challenging behavior with supervisors or parents as needed.
• Facilitate sign-up procedures and accurate attendance tracking.
• Create clubs and activities (career readiness, cooking, anime, dance).
• Organize and lead homework help, games, arts and crafts, and educational projects.
