Job summary

New York Edge in New York City seeks a passionate, mission-driven After School Program Director to lead the growth, quality, and success of the assigned program, its students and staff.

You will manage day-to-day operations to meet New York Edge quality standards and contract requirements, fostering teamwork, sportsmanship, and opportunities for learning through a broad range of activities in a safe, engaging environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; preference in Education, Psychology, or Social Work.
• At least 18 credit hours from an accredited college/university in Child Development, Elementary Education, Physical Education, Recreation or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversees program staff, operations, services and ensures compliance with timelines and contracts.
• Conducts staff performance evaluations and development plans.
• Leads weekly/monthly team meetings to discuss classroom management, lesson planning and SEL.
• Regularly communicates program updates and needs to supervisor.
• Coordinates outreach to the community and recruitment of participants.
• Prepares attendance, activities, reports for internal/external reporting.
• Provides supervision with feedback and goal setting to staff.
• Supports all team members and provides feedback.
• Collaborates with departments to plan professional development workshops.
• Collaborates with school leadership for program delivery aligned with student achievement.
• Monitors program compliance including registrations, documents, ratios, IDs, permits.
• Performs other duties to ensure center and programs run smoothly.
