Qualifications

• Experience with students in grades K-12 in recreational, educational or community youth outreach settings.
• Ability to work cooperatively with School District staff, parents and community leaders.
• Familiarity with quality criteria for after-school programs.
• Ability to communicate effectively and respond to emergencies.
• Must be 18 years of age.
• Must meet education and background check requirements.
• TB screening and DOJ/FBI Live Scan required.
• Physical ability to lead and participate in activities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Fluency in a language other than English desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead and assist in planning and implementing the daily after-school program.
• Maintain a 20:1 student ratio using recruitment and retention strategies.
• Build relationships with youth, guardians, and school staff to increase visibility.
• Track attendance and program progress; report to supervisor.
• Prepare materials and create a creative learning environment.
• Supervise activities to ensure a safe, engaging setting.
• Communicate with staff and guardians about activities and events.
• Attend staff meetings and professional development.
• Assist with field trips and program events as needed.
• Distribute and track meals according to school protocols.
