Job summary

YMCA of Metropolitan Los Angeles is seeking a part-time, seasonal Program Leader, Beyond the Bell, at North Valley Family YMCA in Porter Ranch, CA. You will guide after-school activities for TK–6 students, support homework, and run enrichment clubs in a safe, welcoming environment.

The role emphasizes positive youth development, teamwork, and clear communication with families, staff, and volunteers. Shifts typically 2:00 p.m.–6:00 p.m., school days, with potential for breaks and additional

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• EMSA First Aid and CPR certifications required or ability to obtain prior to employment.
• Experience with school age children in group settings preferred.
• Experience leading enrichment activities, recreation, academics, arts, or sports beneficial.
• Excellent communication and ability to build relationships with diverse families.

Responsibilities

• Lead enrichment activities, homework support, and recreational clubs.
• Organize games and hands-on activities to engage TK–6 students.
• Build positive relationships with students, families, and staff.
• Support safety and well-being of participants and follow YMCA guidelines.
