Job summary

The Boys and Girls Clubs of San Leandro is seeking a Program Manager to lead high-quality after-school programming, supervise staff, and drive collaborations with schools and community partners to create a safe, engaging, outcome-driven environment.

This exempt, on-site role oversees program operations, evaluation, and resource management, aligning activities with ASEs and ELOP standards to empower youth and support families.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in after-school programming, youth development, or a related field.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in staff supervision, coaching, and leadership.
• Strong understanding of child safety, behavior management, and youth engagement strategies.
• Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with school administrators, parents, and community partners.
• Strong organizational skills with multitasking, problem-solving, and adaptability.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and data management systems (CRM or MyClubHub).
• CPR and First Aid certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire).
• Ability to pass a background check and meet state-mandated requirements for working with youth.

Responsibilities

• Leadership & Program Oversight: Manage after-school site programs and ensure safe, outcome-driven environment with ASEs/ELOP standards.
• Staff Supervision & Development: Lead Kinder Care Coordinator and YDPs, guiding supervision and engagement.
• Training & Professional Growth: Plan and participate in trainings and organizational events.
• Program Evaluation & Continuous Improvement: Use CRM data, compile monthly reports, observe sites for improvements.
• Accountability & Performance Management: Supervise staff, address issues with HR/leadership.
• Budget & Resource Management: Oversee site budget, control expenditures, support grant reporting.
• Community & School Partnerships: Build relationships with schools, parents, and partners.
• Program Promotion & Outreach: Represent BGCSL and promote membership.
