Job summary

Seattle YMCA is seeking a part-time, onsite Lead Instructor to guide elementary students in BASE after-school and school-day Play Everyday activities at several local elementary schools. The role starts 8/17 and includes working 6:45am to 6:00pm on school days, with additional program days as needed.

You will support the program supervisor, foster teamwork and social-emotional learning, and help create a fun, safe environment while encouraging skill development and physical activity.

Qualifications

• 18 years or older and able to work with children.
• 2+ years of experience with children, camps, or childcare.
• Completion of minimum STARS training is preferred.
• CPR/First Aid certification is preferred.
• Ability to obtain required background checks.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities for elementary students.
• Supervise children to ensure safety and a positive experience.
• Support staff/volunteers in activities and groups.
• Communicate with parents/guardians about day-to-day matters.
• Follow YMCA policies and contribute to a clean, welcoming site.
• Assist with check-in/check-out and school-based Play Everyday support.
