Job summary

Beauvoir, the National Cathedral Elementary School, seeks an Extended Day Educator for the ABC program to design engaging activities and support student development after school.

The role involves supervising students, mentoring assistants, collaborating with teachers and families, and contributing to program evaluation. Hours are 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. with opportunities for full-day camps during breaks.

Qualifications

• Two years of college coursework completed.
• Supervisory or leadership experience in education or recreation.
• Strong understanding of child development principles and educational best practices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with staff, students, and families.
• CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).

Responsibilities

• Curriculum development and implementation of engaging lesson plans aligning with program goals and standards.
• Supervise students and guide assistants/volunteers, ensuring safety and collaboration.
• Engage with caregivers and staff to share progress and plan improvements.
• Apply effective behavior management strategies and enforce program policies.
• Maintain attendance records and assist in program evaluation and ongoing improvements.
