Job summary

Bethany School's Extended Day Program is seeking staff to provide a safe, engaging after-school environment for Kindergarten through 8th grade. You will supervise students, facilitate activities, assist with homework, and coordinate sign-in/sign-out in partnership with families and faculty. The role emphasizes strong child-development knowledge, clear communication, flexibility, and teamwork.

The schedule typically runs 2:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Qualifications

• Experience with school-age children in educational, recreational, or structured child-enrichment settings.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with students, families, and faculty.
• Ability to multitask and lead diverse groups of students from early childhood to middle school.
• Willingness to obtain First Aid and CPR certification immediately upon hire if not already held.

Responsibilities

• Student Supervision: Maintains active, concentrated supervision of students to ensure safety.
• Activity Planning: Plans and implements developmentally appropriate activities including arts, crafts, sports, games, and clubs.
• Homework Support: Provides a quiet environment and assists with daily homework completion.
• Family Communication: Welcomes families during pick-up and maintains professional communication regarding student behavior and daily activities.
• Program Operations: Assists with attendance tracking, sign-in/sign-out procedures, and basic snack preparation.
• Safety & Health: Administers basic first aid when needed and maintains a clean, sanitary environment.
• Policy Enforcement: Enforces school policies and positive behavior interventions across ages.
