Job summary

Ascension School seeks a Part-Time Extended Day Supervisor to oversee the Extended Day Program (EDP). The role reports to the School Operations Manager and School Principal and involves supervising staff, planning daily activities, and ensuring safe, engaging after-school care for students aged 3–14.

The position emphasizes organization, communication, and the ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining a warm, fun environment for children.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Experience with school-age children (ages 3–14) in organized settings.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to supervise other caregivers.
• Virtus training completed and kept current (monthly updates).
• Ability to pass background checks and drug tests.
• First aid, CPR, asthma, and concussion certifications required.
• Knowledge of childhood development.
• Physical fitness to sit on the floor, bend, and lift children.
• Creativity and willingness to sing, dance, and be playful with children.

Responsibilities

• Supervise EDP staff and ensure access to timecards with help from Business Manager.
• Co-lead staff meetings and trainings; communicate policies and calendar updates to EDP workers.
• Create daily plans for children including snacks, homework, playtime, and activities.
• Monitor and enforce program rules and safety procedures.
• Communicate with parents via newsletters and updates; report injuries or issues to the Principal.
