Job summary

Okemos Public Schools is seeking a dedicated Site Director for our Before and Aftercare program. The Site Director will lead activities, ensure safety, and maintain licensing compliance while fostering a supportive environment for school-age children and their families.

You will communicate with parents, plan engaging activities, and oversee staff, ensuring a clean, organized classroom and adherence to state standards. Prior childcare experience and strong leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 480 hours of experience working with school-age children in a licensed program.
• Completion of at least 15 clock hours, 1 semester, or 1.5 CEUs of documented school-age training.
• Prior experience in a licensed childcare setting, specifically with school-age children.
• Flexible and reliable work schedule.
• Strong interpersonal, leadership, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan and lead age-appropriate, engaging activities
• Create a positive, inclusive environment for students and families
• Maintain open and effective communication with parents and guardians
• Ensure compliance with all state licensing and program standards
