Job summary

School District of Clayton is seeking Site Assistants for Clayton Kid Zone, the district’s before and after school program. The Site Assistant will supervise students, provide a safe environment, and help plan activities across morning and afternoon program hours.

The role requires supervision experience and the ability to engage students in varied activities, with emphasis on safety and positive behavior management. Part-time position, 9–15 hours weekly, salary guidance provided by the district.

Qualifications

• Training and/or experience in supervision of students is desirable.
• Experience working with children is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Site Leader as directed, including preparation and maintenance of program materials.
• Organize and use a variety of teaching techniques to maximize learning for each child.
• Provide a variety of activities for students (homework club, playground, gym, arts/crafts, science).
• Supervise activities and ensure safety, enforce rules, and address behavior problems.
• Communicate with parents and school staff.
• Maintain a safe, orderly environment conducive to learning.
• Prepare snacks and monitor snack time.
• Assist with cleanup and planning when not directly with children.
• Participate in weekly lesson plan implementation with co-workers.
• Follow district procedures and emergency procedures.
• Complete incident/accident reports when necessary.
