Job summary

Sioux Falls Family YMCA is seeking K-5 After School Program Site Assistants for JFK, Discovery, Oscar Howe, Pettigrew and Hayward Elementary Schools for the 2026/2027 school year. The Site Assistant will help ensure a safe, structured, and engaging environment for students.

Responsibilities include supporting the Site Coordinator, assisting with behavior management, supervising children, facilitating transitions, and communicating with staff.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children in school, camp, or childcare settings preferred.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Ability to assist in managing student behaviors and reinforcing positive expectations.
• Comfortable supporting field trip activities and ensuring child safety.
• Reliable, flexible, and able to step in where needed.
• CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).

Schedule & Compensation

Works 2:00 pm – 6:00 pm, Monday–Friday. Starting at $14 for qualified candidates. Part-time.
