Position Summary: We are looking for dedicated K-5 After School Program Site Assistants at JFK, Discovery, Oscar Howe, Pettigrew, and Hayward Elementary Schools for the 2026/2027 school year. The Site Assistant will help ensure a safe, structured, and engaging environment, assist with behavior management, active supervision, and classroom activities.
Responsibilities
- Support the Site Coordinator in implementing daily lessons and activities.
- Assist with behavior management using positive reinforcement and redirection strategies.
- Ensure the safety and supervision of all children at all times.
- Help facilitate transitions between activities and ensure the schedule runs smoothly.
- Encourage participation and foster a positive, inclusive environment for all students.
- Help with classroom organization, setup, and cleanup to maintain a structured learning space.
- Communicate effectively with staff members to ensure smooth program operations.
- Model professionalism and enthusiasm, setting a positive example for students.

Qualifications
- Experience working with children in a school, camp, or childcare setting is preferred.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Ability to assist in managing student behaviors and reinforcing positive expectations.
- Comfortable supporting field trip activities and ensuring child safety.
- Reliable, flexible, and able to step in where needed.
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
Schedule & Compensation
Works 2:00 pm – 6:00 pm, Monday–Friday. Starting at $14 for qualified candidates. Part-time.
