Job summary

Lakeville Area Schools ISD 194 is seeking a Kid Zone Assistant to engage students before and after school, lead educational activities, and ensure their safety and well-being. You will join students on field trips, creating memorable experiences for both you and them.

The role follows the school year (Sept–June) with 176 days plus field trips, hours at several elementary sites (7:00–10:00 am). Pay is $18.68–$22.46 per hour, with benefits for employees working 30+ hours per week.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 18 with a high school diploma.
• Training or experience working with children in group and supervisory settings.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
• Basic academic competencies to provide tutorial support when needed.

Your Role Will Include

• Supervising and engaging with large and small groups of children in a variety of settings, including classrooms, cafeterias, gyms, computer labs, playgrounds, and on field trips.
• Supporting children with a variety of needs.
• Overseeing students during transitions, breakfast, lunch, and snack times.
• Assisting the Kid Zone Instructor with preparing and implementing the daily curriculum and activities.
• Maintaining a safe and welcoming environment by setting up, cleaning, and storing supplies and equipment.

Salary And Benefits

• Eastview Elementary, 7:00 am - 10:00 am
• John F. Kennedy Elementary, 7:0 am - 10:00 am
• Lakeview Elementary, 7:00 am – 9:30 am & 3:00 pm - 5:30 pm (Split Shift)
